Making A Negative, A Positive

Tried to get back to a bit of physical exercise today.  Started my lunges where I left off when I was doing them more frequently.  Sailed through the first set with a huff and a puff about how strong I am in my old age.   … Then I pulled my inner groin muscle on the second set.

Well do the words of a popular Country-Western song apply to me:

“I ain’t as good as I once was, but I am as good once as I ever was.”

Spent a bit today thinking about the negative aspects of my own life in a positive way.

I am now a 50 year-old, 190 lb. man who runs a few miles without stopping with a 35 pound weight around his waist.  Actually, I weigh 225 lbs, and run without any weight belt but my own fat, but that’s looking at it in a positive light.   I’m proud that as a 190 lb. man, I can run so far.  :-)

Sheri came up with a good one:

  • I have the eating disorder Bulimia without the urge to purge.  :-)
  • I’m a gay woman trapped in a man’s body.

And there are many other ways I can look at myself, turning what others might view as a negative, into a positive.

What a world it would be if we eliminated the negative way that we view ourselves and each other.

Nothing more for today.
